Carlson Software is sold as a Perpetual License. Updates, patches and improvements are offered via their optional annual Software Maintenance* plan.
90-days of Maintenance is included for free with initial product purchase.
1-Year Maintenance plans can be purchased during the current Maintenance period for 10% of the then current List price of the software, or after for 10% per year lapsed.

Why should you purchase Software Maintenance?
Software is constantly evolving. Some changes are intentional like adding new features or fixing bugs. Some changes are out of Carlsons control like Operating System updates that break applications. When the latter happens it can stop your productivity without warning. If you are on the Maintenance plan when something goes wrong you will automatically** receive the patch when available. No software company will go back and fix old versions to correct O/S issues. Carlson Software Maintenance is an affordable way to keep working when problems arise.
*OEM Software, SurvCE/PC, SurveyGNSS and Carlson Photo Capture Saas are not included.
**Automatic updates is an option that is ON by default. If a user turns this option off they can search for and download updates manually while current on the Maintenance plan.
Maintenance Plan
1-Year Maintenance cost is 10% of the current list price of the software when renewed prior to the end of term. When the term lapses the cost to renew is 10% + 10% (of list) for each year missed.
If your version is more than 5 years old Carlson offers a capped fee of 50% of list to update to the latest version.
Network License
The Network License allows you to have access to the software from anywhere on your Network. When you purchase ONE License of Software and the Network License ONE USER can access the software from any terminal.
If you have more than one user who needs access to the software at the same time you would need to purchase additional Software Licenses AND Network Licenses.
The value of the Network License is the convenience of being to access your Software License(s) from anywhere on your network. Instead of users having to move from work station to work station to use the software they can simply access it from their terminal.
If you own (4) Software Licenses you can install them on (4) different P.C.’s. If you only have (4) users and they are the only ones who would need the software then you do not need the Network License.
If you have 6 or more users that may need to access the software but only (4) at any one time, then purchasing (4) Software Licenses AND (4) Network Licenses may satisfy your needs.

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
Intel® Pentium® 4 or comparable (minimum), Intel i7 or at least Intel i5 or comparable (recommended). Due to the variety of processors on the market, one can use cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php to do comparative analysis. While the overall processor score matters, the single thread performance is of the most interest.
64-bit Windows 7-10: 2 GB of RAM minimum, 8+ GB recommended.
Windows Vista: 1 GB of RAM minimum, 4 GB recommended.
Windows XP: 512 megabytes (MB) of RAM minimum, 2 GB recommended.
Graphics card compatible with OpenGL Version 1.4 or higher:
- Recommended are desktop graphics level discrete (not integrated cards like Intel HD) graphics cards.
- Preferably Nvidia Geforce due to their more consistent driver support.
- Discrete ATI/AMD cards will be adequate, but ATI’s driver support has been spotty and user is frequently deferred to the computer manufacturer for support.
- Professional Nvidia Quadro cards are not currently recommended due to driver issues.
- Powerful gaming cards are not required and probably would not provide as much benefit as investment in more memory or better CPU
