Carlson RTk5 replacement GNSS Antenna, cable and Ground Plane options

Replacement precision GNSS antenna, coax cable and Ground Plane washer for the Carlson RTk5 GNSS Rover.

There are (3) versions of the GNSS Antenna. The original (no longer available) has a 45″ coax cable connected directly to the bottom of the antenna. Select Version 2 and a Cable to replace Version 1.

The CURRENT OEM version GNSS antenna has a 4″ coax attached and requires a 44″ coax cable to connect to the tablet. This 4″ Coax is most vulnerable to damage if not installed/removed correctly.

NEW! Exclusive to CSS. Our aftermarket antenna relocates the vulnerable point of damage to the relatively inexpensive coax cable. See below

For replacement Coax Cable we offer the OEM version and our own custom made assembly with the correct connectors at each end.

Ground Plane Washer (disc) prevents GNSS signals reflected from the ground from reaching the antenna element. This is a critical part of Multipath mitigation.

If you make the mistake of threading the GNSS antenna onto the Pole and NOT twisting the cable at the same time, then you likely damaged the coax cable on the expensive OEM antenna! (see image below)

Replacing the Ground Plane Washer? Be CAREFUL when un-threading the GNSS antenna from the Pole as you can cause permanent damage to the coax cable!

Only CSS offers a solution: Our own aftermarket Antenna relocates the most vulnerable point of potential damage from the expensive antenna to the relatively inexpensive cable, see below.

If you make the same mistake (again), with our aftermarket antenna, you will not damage the expensive antenna but only the relatively inexpensive coax cable.
